About Me

Sherri Ziff

Sherri Ziff is a television writer, producer and author whose career has spanned entertainment and social-impact work. Her television credits include Beverly Hills, 90210, Baywatch and The Big Easy. Ziff chose to put her television career on hold to raise her children, then spent nearly two decades as a prominent entertainment-industry life coach, featured in media around the world and named by ELLE as one of its Power Women in Hollywood. Her coaching work also included women in prison and children of incarcerated parents.

After being struck by an SUV as a pedestrian and sustaining a traumatic brain injury, Ziff's professional life was interrupted for eight years. Following what her neurologist described as a "miraculous" recovery, Ziff has recently returned to her creative and advocacy work. Her experience inspired The Brain Spa, an original television pilot set in an innovative wellness center for people recovering from brain injury and trauma, where cutting-edge neuroscience meets creativity, community, connection—and the radical idea that healing can actually be fun.

She is also the creator and executive producer of The Volunteers, an eight-part documentary series, and the author of You've Been Hit and Run: What You Must Do Now and the upcoming Your Unexpected Life. She divides her time between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv and is the mother of two adult children.

Why I'm Pursuing This Now

"Forty years ago, I was sexually assaulted. I spoke up immediately—and I was silenced, with no meaningful legal recourse.

Four decades later, California AB 250 has given me something I never imagined I would have: an opportunity to seek accountability. I am profoundly grateful to the lawmakers and advocates who understood that the passage of time does not erase sexual violence—or the right of survivors to pursue justice.

What happened to me 40 years ago was wrong then, and it is wrong now. The young woman I was deserved to be heard. AB 250 has finally given me the opportunity to make sure she is."
